This tour, which lasts around 3 hours, includes the return trip by coach and visits to the Visitors’ Reception Centre and the archaeological site of Medina Azahara itself. (Transport by coach or private car is essential, as the site is about 8 kms from the city centre of Cordoba).

The archaeological remains are of a city palace built in the 10th century, when Cordoba was the greatest city in the western world. Only about 11% of the total area has been excavated and the highlight is the Hall of Abd al-Rahman III, a richly decorated reception hall. It was declarated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2018.
